Talents Y - Meet the B side Of Leonor Monteiro

If you could go back to your first day at Yunit, what advice would you give yourself knowing what you know today?

If I could go back to my first day, I would have told myself: stay calm, you won't be able to learn everything on the first day or even in the first week, everything takes time.

When did you feel that Yunit's culture was more than just words on a wall?

When I had my first contact with the Yunit team and realised it is made up of real people, people with empathy, who try to understand the other side, who are driven by a purpose.

If you had an unlimited budget for an internal project at Yunit, where would you invest it and why?

I would invest in the creation of Y-Stories: a documentary series of short episodes to follow the real stories of our clients. We would show the before and after, the behind-the-scenes, the challenges, and the authentic testimonies of how Yunit's support made all the difference to the direction of that business.

What mistake did you make at the beginning of your journey at Yunit that taught you the most about our business?

At the beginning, I made the mistake of focusing the communication more on the technical side of the business, instead of focusing on the people. It taught me that in Yunit's Marketing we do not just communicate to 'B2B', we communicate to real entrepreneurs with fears, dreams, and life stories.

If your team were a film character, what would be their "hidden superpower" to solve problems?

We would be Joy from Inside Out, our superpower is having a “clarity filter”. We try to minimise the bureaucracy of the business and translate everything into light, direct, and unfiltered communication, ensuring our message gets exactly where we want it in a genuine way.

SIDE B

How would you explain what you do at Yunit to a 6-year-old?

You know when you want to build the biggest toy car track in the world, but you need someone to help you put the right pieces together? I use the internet to show, and let the owners of the biggest car tracks know, that Yunit is the team that has those secret pieces to help them build their track.

What do you do incredibly well outside the office that almost no one here knows about?

My hidden talent is painting canvases, and if they turn out well, I give them to my friends as gifts :)

What is the music or sound that gets you into total "deep work"?

House music.

Complete the sentence: “Yunit is the right place for anyone who…”.

Has a strong desire to learn and grow both personally and professionally. The challenges are constant, and the opportunity to seize them must be present and come from ourselves.

Duarte, in the last interview, left you the following question: What is that Yunit jargon, acronym, or expression that, at first, seemed like a completely foreign language to you?

Everything involving the ABCs of Financial Incentives: SIFIDE, RFAI, PRR... When I joined, it felt like I had been given a dictionary in a completely foreign language.

What question would you like to leave for the next interviewee?

If Yunit were a desert island and you could only take one colleague and one object from your desk to survive there, who would you take and what would you choose?
