General Incentive Objective

 

This call aims to support small simplified projects for corporate climate and energy transition, promoting:

→The improvement of energy and environmental performance across regional businesses.
→The reduction of primary and final energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, with priority focus on industry and tourism sectors.
→Resource efficiency and waste minimisation within corporate operational processes.

 

Supported Typologies

 

Small-scale capital investments and specialized technical support activities are eligible:

→Specialised consultancy services: Energy audits, technical assessments, action plans, and certifications designed to deliver energy savings and carbon footprint reduction.
→Small investment projects: Small-scale interventions to improve energy and environmental performance, aimed at reducing consumption, minimising waste and supporting the adoption of energy transition solutions.
→Energy efficiency investments: Replacing inefficient machinery with high-efficiency equipment, thermal/electrical upgrades, digital sub-metering, smart automation, and energy management systems.
→Complementary renewable self-consumption: Solar PV or other renewable installations strictly complementary to demand-side efficiency measures.

 

Eligible Expenses

 
✓Tangible assets: Acquisition of high-efficiency machinery and equipment, including direct shipping and installation costs.
✓IT hardware and software directly associated with operational metering, automation, and energy reduction targets.
✓Intangible assets: Standard or customised depreciable software strictly dedicated to the project objectives.
✓Technology transfer, patent acquisition, licensing, and proprietary know-how indispensable to the project implementation.
✓Refurbishment and construction works strictly necessary and proportionate to equipment installation.
✓Specialised advisory services, energy assessments, action plans, and certifications (excluding continuous routine management services).

Eligible Beneficiaries

 
✓Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) regardless of legal corporate form.
✓Enterprises with a physical establishment located in the Algarve Region (NUTS III) where investments are made (virtual registered offices excluded).
✓Companies with organised accounting and verified compliance regarding tax and social security duties.

Mandatory Ex Ante and Ex Post Assessments
Applications require an ex-ante technical baseline audit and an ex-post assessment to prove primary and final energy savings.

Simplified Cost Options
Funding is granted on a lump-sum model based on a detailed project budget for total eligible costs up to €200,000.

Energy Efficiency First Principle
Renewable self-consumption solutions (such as solar PV) are only eligible as complementary to demand-side efficiency measures.

Project Execution Period
Maximum execution period of 12 months, extendable up to 6 additional months under duly justified situations accepted by the Managing Authority.

Timestamp-based Selection Criterion
Simplified project ranking based strictly on submission timestamp (day, hour, minute, second) against available budget.
