In this interview, we share Side A and Side B of Sofia Soares, Consultant at Yunit.
SIDE A (longer answers)
The Hidden "Superpower": What is that one skill you use daily that isn't in your job description?
Hmm… ensuring the team is pulling in the same direction without losing focus.
High-Stakes Bet: If you had an unlimited budget for an internal project at Yunit, where would you invest it and why?
AI tools for document management and preparation, as well as preliminary project analysis, so we could spend less time validating documents, formatting data, etc., and have more time to think strategically with the client.
Demystification: What is the biggest myth about your role that you would like to debunk for the whole team?
Perhaps the myth that it's just about delegating tasks and tracking deadlines. Since coordination work involves trying to anticipate problems no one has seen yet, clearing technical roadblocks, giving emotional support to the team during peak workloads, and ensuring a balance between demanding results and the well-being of those making things happen.
Advice to your Past Self: If you could give yourself a 5-minute piece of advice on your first day at Yunit, what would you say?
"Stay calm, you don't have to know everything, trust the process, learn from the whole team, and accept that the unexpected will be part of your day-to-day. Your adaptability will be your greatest strength!"
Yunit in 5 years: What makes you most excited, and what keeps you up at night?
What excites me most is seeing Yunit become a national benchmark in incentive systems and funding, with increasingly efficient processes and a highly skilled team. What keeps me up at night is mostly the unpredictability of the funding calls, and the constant challenge of maintaining our close-knit culture and the human quality of the team as we continue to grow.
SIDE B (quick, more unexpected answers)
Out-of-the-Box Recommendation: What podcast, newsletter, or hobby helps you think better that no one would expect?
"Isso não se diz" by Bruno Nogueira.
The Curious Question: What question do you wish your colleagues would ask you more often in the corridor or the office kitchen?
None 😊 I prefer to keep to myself haha.
Time Travel: If you could work from anywhere in the world for a month, where would your office be?
The Seychelles.
Hidden Talent: What do you do incredibly well outside the office that almost no one here knows about?
Telling stories/putting on little plays with my son! At least, he's always asking for more :D
Complete the sentence: “Yunit is the right place for someone who…”
Is not afraid to step out of their comfort zone and loves challenges!
Leonor, in the last interview, left you the following question: If Yunit were a desert island and you could only take one colleague and one object from your desk to survive, who would you take and what would you choose?
Eduardo (he would certainly figure out a way to get us out of there!) and my mobile phone (Eduardo would definitely find a way to charge it using solar power)!
What question would you like to leave for the next interviewee?
"If you could swap roles with anyone at Yunit for just one day, who would you be and what would you do?"
Keep up to date with news on investment incentives and tax benefits and qualified information for your company's financial management decisions.
I agree to the terms and conditions of the Yunit Consulting Privacy Policy, which I have read and understood.
