Talents Y - Get to know the other side of Tiago Ferreira

Tell us a little bit about your journey, where you come from, what your background is, where you studied, and how long you have been with Yunit?

I am originally from Santa Comba Dão, a small city in inland Portugal. I graduated in Marketing from the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda and started my professional journey in 2021 at a marketing agency. In February 2024, I had the opportunity to take on Marketing and Communication management at Yunit Consulting. 

Tell us about a project or moment that particularly motivated you or challenged you in an unexpected way.

One of the most challenging and motivating moments for me, as Marketing and Communication Manager, was realising the importance of our team's role in demystifying European Funds. Although my role does not directly involve project development, I have the desire to one day follow a project from start to finish. I believe it will be fundamental to have an overview of the entire process within the company. 

The challenge lies in transforming something complex, like European Funds, into something understandable and appealing to companies. I believe success arises when the client, fully informed about our value proposition, makes a conscious decision to move forward. This is a process that requires a constant effort of clear and efficient communication, and it is rewarding to see the impact we can have on the growth of Portuguese Companies by providing them with this knowledge. 

Our mission begins with the first contact with the client across the most diverse communication channels, and that is where the alignment between our communication and the technical team's experience becomes crucial to making YUNIT a reference in quality and credibility. It is this trust that we have been building, and which, in the end, is reflected in the success of the projects we accompany.

How would you describe Yunit's culture?

At Yunit, we find a culture of unity, sharing, and growth. I believe that the fact that it is composed of people with such different backgrounds allows for the sharing of ideas and knowledge, thus creating an ecosystem of personal and professional growth. 

What advice would you give to someone who has just landed at Yunit? 

Ask questions! The power of questioning can solve most of our problems. There is always someone willing to help you and explain concepts, processes, and even why a certain task is done in way X and not in way Y. 

If you hadn't gone into working at a Consultancy, is there any other sector of activity you would have chosen?

Considering my family background, the construction sector would be one of the chosen sectors. A sector that is often underestimated, but which is a fundamental pillar of society capable of transforming the way we live. 

Tell us about a hobby you have or an activity you really want to do one day!

I have an interest in learning to play the guitar one day. I have been further away from achieving this, I confess, but at least I already know how to play the standard beginner's song: Dunas - GNR. 

What book, trip, or other activity recommendation was memorable for you and would you like to share with us?

Everyone around me already knows this, but my International Experience in London was one of the ones that marked me the most. I met people from more than 10 different countries, which undoubtedly allowed me to broaden my horizons, get to know different realities, and contribute positively to my growth as a person.
