Tell us a little bit about your journey, where you come from, what your background is, where you studied, and how long you have been with Yunit?
Inspired by my Philosophy teacher and Greenpeace, 28 years ago, I chose the environmental field for my career path. Despite the scarcity of job offers in this area when I finished my degree in 2001, I always managed to work in the environmental field, combining it with other areas in which I trained and improved my skills.
I joined Yunit 7 months ago and, 24 years later, I fully take on the challenge of Sustainability, which encompasses the environment, social/human issues, but also the corporate challenges of integrating these support areas into the strategic and operational language of companies.
Tell us about a project or moment that particularly motivated you or challenged you in an unexpected way.
All projects were/are challenging, whether due to their specificity or the corporate culture in which they were/are inserted.
The biggest challenge is the change of mindset in companies regarding the value that Sustainability adds and demonstrating that embracing this area not only meets the growing demands for social and environmental responsibility in the value chain, but also allows for reaping a series of benefits that positively impact their financial results, reputation, and longevity in the market.
How would you describe Yunit's culture?
It is a focused, transparent, engaging, dynamic, and unstoppable culture. What advice would you give to someone who has just landed at Yunit?
Basically, the same advice I would give to anyone joining any organisation. Clarify your functions, seek to learn a lot about the business and your role within it, and define clear objectives to work with motivation.
If you hadn't gone into working at a Consultancy, is there any other sector of activity you would have chosen?
I would always have to have a very active role in change, whether organisational or cultural, regardless of the sector.
Tell us about a hobby you have or an activity you really want to do one day!
At Yunit, we created a running group and I am trying to keep up with the routine. I would really love to be able to read everything I have to read...
What book, trip, or other activity recommendation was memorable for you and would you like to share with us?
Book – the last one I read in hours, “Nem todas as árvores morrem de pé”, by Luísa Sobral;Trip – Eurodisney. I recommend annual visits.
