Talents Y - Get to know the other side of Pedro Castro

Tell us a little bit about your journey, where you come from, what your background is, where you studied, and how long you have been with Yunit?

I am a "Tripeiro" through and through [native of Porto] - I have lived my whole life in the city of Porto. I studied Management at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto and later completed a Master's in Finance at the same faculty. I have been at Yunit for about a year.

Tell us about a project or moment that particularly motivated you or challenged you in an unexpected way.

I could list several, because at Yunit you are quickly put to the test, whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced professional. The most memorable moment for me was the first project where I was responsible for all communication with the client, from the start to the conclusion of the work. I learned that it is important to keep an open line and manage expectations throughout the process.

How would you describe Yunit's culture?

Yunit can pride itself on having a very transparent and collaborative culture. I think the fact that everyone is on a first-name basis facilitates internal communication greatly, from the CEO to the Junior Consultant.

What advice would you give to someone who has just landed at Yunit?

No pressure! Here you will have colleagues who will help you at every stage of your integration. Don't be afraid to ask questions and to question why something is done in a certain way.

If you hadn't gone into working at a Consultancy, is there any other sector of activity you would have chosen?

There are countless professions I would like to try for a day, but in particular, I have always been curious about working in a Ministry or State Secretariat or in the aviation sector.

Tell us about a hobby you have or an activity you really want to do one day!

I studied classical guitar for 10 years and I still belong to a musical association where I return whenever the music bug bites again.

What book, trip, or other activity recommendation was memorable for you and would you like to share with us?

When I did an Erasmus semester in Poland, I took a two-day solo trip to the city of Wrocław. I highly recommend the city, which is beautiful, and that you try travelling alone at least once in your life. The impressions that remain from that trip will be totally different.
