Talents Y - Get to know the other side of Leonardo Almeida

Tell us a little bit about your journey, where you come from, what your background is, where you studied, and how long you have been with Yunit?

I am a native of Penafiel. I graduated in Economics from UTAD and attended the Master's in Industrial and Business Economics at UMinho. I have 5 years of experience in consulting and auditing. I joined Yunit about 6 months ago as a consultant, focused on projects in the tourism sector.

Tell us about a project or moment that particularly motivated you or challenged you in an unexpected way.

In my very first month, I worked on a tourism project with very tight deadlines and some technical complexity. It was demanding, but super rewarding to see the final result recognized by the client.

How would you describe Yunit's culture?

It is a close-knit culture, where team spirit, knowledge sharing, and autonomy are valued. There is good energy and an openness to learn and evolve.

What advice would you give to someone who has just landed at Yunit?

Don't be afraid to ask questions, be curious, and get involved. The team is always available to support, and learning is part of the process.

If you hadn't gone into working at a Consultancy, is there any other sector of activity you would have chosen?

If I hadn't followed a career in consulting, I probably would have chosen to work in the technology sector, especially in data analysis, as I love working with numbers and finding innovative solutions.

Tell us about a hobby you have or an activity you really want to do one day!

I like hiking and exploring new trails. One day I would like to do a road trip along the Portuguese coast, from north to south.

What book, trip, or other activity recommendation was memorable for you and would you like to share with us?

I recommend a road trip through the Balkans; it was an intense and authentic experience, full of surprising landscapes and great cultural diversity.
