Talents Y - Get to know the other side of Catarina Pestana!

Tell us a little bit about your journey, where you come from, what your background is, where you studied, and how long you have been with Yunit?

I come from Turquel, a town in the municipality of Alcobaça, in the Central region of the country. I have been in Lisbon for 4 years, where I graduated in Management from the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG), University of Lisbon. I have been with Yunit since August 2023, and it has been a journey full of learning experiences.

Tell us about a project or moment that particularly motivated you or challenged you in an unexpected way.

Looking back, I would say that the most challenging projects so far were the first ones I was involved in, because I was in a phase of integration not only into the company but also into the job market. One of the first projects was in the industrial sector, so right at the beginning of my journey, I came into contact with the details of the production process and everything surrounding a reality that was unknown to me.

How would you describe Yunit's culture?

Welcoming and challenging, in that there is truly a team spirit and where you can develop your skills and knowledge.

What advice would you give to someone who has just landed at Yunit? 

Come with an open mind; you will certainly be well received and have the opportunity to learn a lot.

If you hadn't gone into working at a Consultancy, is there any other sector of activity you would have chosen?

Honestly, I never thought of another specific sector, but it would always have to be something related to data analysis and calculations—one of my biggest interests forever—and also something that wasn't monotonous.

Tell us about a hobby you have or an activity you really want to do one day!

A trip to the Netherlands.

What book, trip, or other activity recommendation was memorable for you and would you like to share with us?

My recommendation, perhaps more geared towards those who like sports, is to watch or even play roller hockey. Turquel is known as the Village of Hockey, so I grew up with this reality very close by, which ends up being quite memorable.
