Tell us a little bit about your journey, where you come from, what your background is, where you studied, and how long you have been with Yunit?
I have a degree in International Relations and, over the years, my career path led me to the world of marketing and client relationships. I have worked at institutions such as UNESCO, the Ministry of Finance, and the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP). In 2021, I accepted the challenge of leading Yunit's Marketing and Partnerships Department and, since 2024, I have taken on the role of Business Development Director.
Tell us about a project or moment that particularly motivated you or challenged you in an unexpected way.
There are two things I must necessarily highlight: the Heróis PME [SME Heroes] project and the convergence trajectory between the commercial, marketing, and partnerships teams.
One of the things that brought me to Yunit, I would even say it was responsible for me knowing Yunit and being here today, was Heróis PME. In early 2017, I was watching SIC Notícias when an advert for Heróis came on. At the time, still at the Chamber of Commerce, I thought “this initiative is spectacular, it has a very strong brand and its purpose is perfectly aligned with the CCIP's mission. We have to be partners!”. And that was how I contacted Bernardo and challenged him to a meeting to understand what synergies could exist between both organisations. CCIP has been a partner since the 2nd edition, and I was able to follow and collaborate in its promotion. Since 2021, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand how companies value this distinction and the impact it has on organisations and their teams, and this always brings me a wonderful sense of gratification and accomplishment.
On the other hand, I must mention the challenge of the convergence of the marketing, commercial, CRM, and partnerships teams into a single department – Business Development. Carrying out this process required, and still requires, aligning teams, processes, and strategies, but starting to see the first results and the synergies being created is highly motivating.
How would you describe Yunit's culture?
Yunit is a company with a very unique DNA, where dynamism and cooperation go hand in hand. It is a culture in which there is autonomy, with accountability, and where I feel that the work developed is valued. There is a true team spirit and a genuine desire to grow together, innovate, and create real impact for our clients. What advice would you give to someone who has just landed at Yunit?
Be curious, ask questions, and get involved. Here, learning is constant, and opportunities arise for those who have initiative and the will to contribute.
If you hadn't gone into working at a Consultancy, is there any other sector of activity you would have chosen?
Probably something linked to International Organisations, such as the UN or an NGO. The world fascinates me, and I believe that knowing different realities makes us better professionals and people. And being able to help others on this path, even better!
Tell us about a hobby you have or an activity you really want to do one day!
I love reading because I think books allow us to discover and transport us to other realities. Sometimes they have the power to immerse us so much that we really enter the characters' lives and contexts, and it is as if we were there with them. What would I like to do that I haven't done yet? A big round-the-world trip and write a book. Not necessarily in that order 😊.
What book, trip, or other activity recommendation was memorable for you and would you like to share with us?
I can't recommend just one book because the list is immense and very difficult to choose from. As for travel, for me, there is nothing like exploring Southeast Asia (the next destination is already booked!).
